I have the original Geoport, as well as the Geoport II that came with my Twentieth Anniversary Mac. I consider myself a power user, and have found the Geoport modem to be insufficient for my needs in terms of reliability of connection, compatibility with other software, and speed, and I dont simply mean the connection rate. Perhaps I am just spoiled by my USR Courier V.everything, which is probably the finest modem money can buy.

To be clear however, my complaint is not really that the modem is only a 33.6. This is fast enough for most consumers today. My complaint is that everybody else is shipping with a 56K and will make the machine look outdated, cheapo, and weak even though it is not.

No position in AAPL at this time. Never shorted it, and definately would not right now.
