Hey now! I'm a Ford guy...I'm sure our vehicles are...Hmmmm
I'd better ask some questions - FAST.

I'm a maintenance supervisor in a Factory and I have been wondering
about Y2K and its effect on our control systems. Just yesterday
we had a problem with a Laser light screen (used to detect someone
entering the automation). We could not reprogram the overly
high-tech "black box" because the date/time on our laptop was not set
properly.

If this is a taste of things to come, I plan on getting out of maintenance before Dec 31, 1999!

Humbly submitted,
(Concerned in Detroit)

<<Today I spent over thirty minutes on the phone with Ford Motors, trying to find out
about Embedded chips in cars... I asked if the chips are Year 2000 compliant... Silence
on the other end of the phone... I tried explaining what might happen if millions of cars
stopped working on 1/1/2000... I mentioned factory floor remediation... Silence on the
other end... There was some noise... The Click Click Click of the keyboard as the
person was typing down what I said... I then mentioned TAVA... You guessed it...
Click Click Click...>>

Jim,
Did the person on the other end even have a clue what you were talking about?
