<< I submit that the reason that
DELL's volume has decreased is due to the fact that there is much greater
speculative interest in other areas, and in the past DELL was the subject of
considerable speculation. Thus, the decrease in volume indicates nothing, because
the stock turnover of those of us who are long-term investors has not changed.

But maybe all that previous "speculative activity" brought Dell to
its present price.
e.g. shorts have been propelling this stock up for quite a while
(consider McNavv who probably lost 30 million in dell, and small
fry like me who lost a few thousand, countless other bears on this
thread). Now that the short interest isn't so high(judging by the
bull/bear posts ratio on this thread), with the reduced volatility
Dell might behave less like the internet stocks and the Ktels' of
today. Perhaps it will go down to 30 with a whimper instead of a bang?

volatility the stock might come down. WIth a whimper perhaps

Hi Chuzz,..Re:<<The Constant Barage of Doom>>

Paul,
I don't think that someone who calls buyers of Dell suckers deserves any recognition or reply. We have read in the past weeks that some of the regulars and even some new people have recently bought Dell. I think any reference to people buying stocks as suckers indicates an inherent disrespect for everyone.

As for buying hard assets, we can only say 'to each his own'. It seems far fetched in today's world that hedging would revert back to something that doesn't accrue interest and that has additional fees for storage. I think the DM or SF have lately (in the past several years anyway) been used for hedging dollar weakness. But I'm sure you are aware of the available alternatives. Weekly Au looks weak.

Finally, the price of lettue and other vegetables has to do with El Nino and I can't for the life of me figure out how that got into this overall doom scenario.
