Thanks to all contributors to this thread. It is a useful resource.

John, not to be picky but I count 604 days until...

not "693 Days To Go -- and Counting." For those that didn't click on the link this number was a quote from the Feb. 6 paper.

[OPINION] Changing characteristics of Y2K publications

In the last couple of weeks I see a change in character of y2k articles in the press/internet.

Increasingly, so called 'alarmist' views on y2k (e.g. www.garynorth.com) are voiced by high standing opinion makers in many different market and public sectors; notably including defense and intelligence. The volume of these publications is increasing dramatically (Cory Hamasaki: predicted y2k would turn up every day on news papers - this prediction kicked in this week; 5 days in a row y2k was on the front page of the Washington Post.

Summer last year I thought that awareness would be increased tremendously in just a few months; including impact on stock markets.
This turned out to take much longer.

However, things are speeding up rapidly at the moment.
Y2K triggered market corrections are only 2-4 months away from now IMO.

For my current investments (mainly in y2k stocks); the big question is whether the first of these corrections will boost y2k stocks; or that it will tear them down with all other stocks.

I am currently thinking it will be the first; not the latter.
