I think it's already been established that data and software distribution for portable devices will be on OROM, and storage is already Flash. Microsoft seems to think so, as they alredy have the drivers for OROM in Windows CE.

For instance, a GPS navigator could have an entire country in map form on one $2 OROM card. And not worry about draining batteries or ruggedness. OROM features both energy-savings, and ruggedness needed for such a device. Vapor!'s fragility is like a mere toy in comparison to OROM and Flash.

Philip -- just use the search feature at the bottom of this page to do a full text search for orom, and you'll find a whole series of posts going back to mid-March on several threads besides this one which discuss orom in some detail.

I'm keeping an eye on ipotics because of it.
