You are right FT. When you hire someone for $4.75 an hour you get someone who is only worth $4.75 an hour and he/she probably has a brain that weighs less than 4.75 ounces.

Restaurants expect the public to tolerate these non-intellectuals in order to keep the price of lunch as low as possible.

Terrence, in a society where everyone equal rights, and anti-discrimination laws, companies will rightly be held responsible for the acts of their employees in this area. While in any company there may be an isolated employee who discriminates against a customer, the incidents at Denny's were spread over wide geographic areas and happened repeatedly. That is why they paid out $64,000,000--to put the whole ugly story behind them. And why they hired a new company president, also. Denny's has now spent millions of dollars in their employee retraining program. You would have to wonder at this point what on earth these employees do not understand!!!

To answer your question, however, when a large corporation has so many more problems with racial discrimination charges than other companies in the same field, as happened here, it IS a reflection of corporate culture.
