<It's a day that is set aside to reflect on the glory of God and His gift of salvation to
mankind. Picking the midwinter festival made sense as it would give the heathen
more to look forward to than just appeasing their appetites. It's understandable that

Chris, what enemies of Christ want to do away with Christmas? Most pagans celebrate it as the Winter Solstice, which of course is what it always has been--the longest, coldest part of winter and the birthday of the sun god, who then comes out and gradually warms everything up. And then of course there is Santa (Satan spelled differently)!

The Christians chose the Winter Solstice as Jesus's birthday because they were trying to get converts. This is a very old trick, historically speaking.
