[v330 & NT4.0 & MultiMonitor] Allen, the following requirements are necessary for a multi monitor configuration ( diamondmm.com ): you must have the following: A Viper V330 PCI card for every monitor you wish to use (maximum of four) Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3 installed Diamond's InControl Tools for Windows NT 4.0 (these utilities are loaded when you install Diamond's Windows NT 4.0 drivers) Note: You cannot mix Viper V330 PCI cards with a Viper V330 AGP card. Let me add some comments: 1. you must have the *same* card for each monitor, this is essential. Even if you have different video cards with the same graphic chip on board (eg a Riva one) it probably wont work (because of the different graphic board BIOS). Important is, as you can see from the above note you cant even mix an AGP version with a PCI version. 2. it is very likely (tho not mentioned at the diamond site) that you *must* use the same *resolution* for all monitors. This is an issue if you mix a high end with a low end monitor. At least, you can usally adjust the refresh rate for each graphic card/monitor individually. 3. Diamond mentions a maximum resolution of 3200x2400 with 4 monitors, this implies that in case you are planning to use 4 monitors the physical arrangement is in a 2x2 'square' configuration , i.e. your desktop is spanned over 4 monitors whitch a total resolution of (2*1600)x(2*1200)=3200x2400. This is in contrast to a row arrangement, where 4 monitors are all in-line horizontally with a total resolution of 4x(1600x1200) = 6400x1200 which is not mentioned explicitely by Diamond. 4. With WIN98 you are more flexible, especially you can mix pci & agp graphic cards. However, you need driver software from the card vendor which must be Win98 certified (thats announced by Diamond for the Viper card) 5. Personally, i use a 2 monitor configuration with 2 Millenniums and Win NT4.0, and on my second computer a 3 monitor configuration with bulk ware (no name) graphic cards and Win98 beta3.
