ERICSSON SIGNS FIRST CONTRACTS FOR NEW PICO BASE STATION IN JAPAN

Ericsson has signed its first contracts for a new specially
developed base station for the Japanese market, the Pico BS.
Deliveries will start next month.

The Pico BS, based on the PDC standard, is one of the world's
smallest cellular radio base stations at just 11 litres in size. It
can provide extra coverage and capacity, both indoor and outdoor, at
a minimum use of space on a market where size is essential. This
enables fast site acquisition for the network operator, an important
competitive factor in expanding wireless networks today.

One Pico BS can cover up to 500 subscribers and is therefore a very
efficient solution in hot spots and dead spots, for example in
department stores. The Pico BS utilizes ISDN transmission, which
also makes transmission acquisition faster and easier for the
operator.

Gaining these competitive advantages in site and transmission
acquisition coupled with easy installation provides for fast
deployment. This further enables operators to meet the ever-changing
subscriber needs to be reached anywhere, anytime via their wireless
services.

After the first phases of PDC deployment, where area coverage will
be in focus, the Pico BS is also ideal for development of other
indoor and underground coverage solutions.

Ericsson has already been chosen as system supplier by six mobile
operators in Japan. Ericsson has established three local companies
in Japan, Ericsson Toshiba Telecommunications Systems K.K., a joint
venture between Ericsson and Toshiba Corporation, Nippon Ericsson
K.K., a fully owned subsidiary, and Ericsson Mobile Communications
Japan K.K., a joint venture with Marubeni.

Ericsson's 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries.
Their combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones
and infocom systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in
telecommunications.

I bought it because I thought it might be scooped up by LU. The YURI deal may have thrown some water on that, but I think TLAB is still a good stock. I don't use TA or FA. I try to buy stocks that are popular, but have some value.
