The question Doc, is how successful will LU be with their strategy to incorporate ATU-Cs in switches. Currently, Most RBOCs are going with external DSLAMs for data overlay networks. The switch solution is compelling to get rid of multiple jumpers and a cabling mess, but what do you give up with the switch? Is a voice switch the best place for data? How will LU get the data off the 5ESS? Do they place an ATM multiplexer at the egress side? I have not read up on LUs solution to that level of detail. Yet, LU is a force to be reckoned with. One of the most powerful players in the telco market, if not THE most powerful. Usually for voice, now for data.

I'd love to see an FTEL announcement before my May options become worthless.

Dr. Tech; Thanks for the BT info. Customer's always right, right. I'm confused as to how Westell could have anything to do with this latest Lucent PR with regard to their DSLAM. Westell incorporating LU chipset w/Aware algorithms into LU DSLAM<G> Good day in Vivus yesterday, slight down today on much less volume. Dave
