RE: Apple iMac

Interesting. Those new iMacs look terrific, and are the first real "NetPC's" I've ever seen.

apple.com

No floppy. Only a CD-Rom. No SCSI, no Parallel Port, so Zip is out of the question. Just 2 USB ports and an infra-red port. Sony has stated they are working on various interfaces for HiFi, USB included. They better. because this is the first desktop machine I've ever seen with only USB ports. It comes with 10/100 ethernet, 33k modem, and a badass tranluscent plastic casing. $1299. This may be a shadow of things to come.

The external Sony HiFi drive with USB port would make a terrific addition to this new Apple. HiFi can handle Standard floppies, and also deal with the new Standard in Superfloppies- 200MB high-speed HiFi discs.

iMac is sure to be a collectible classic, just like those white Powerbooks a few years back.
