Re: "Being Objective!!!!" and "If Jobs can get some new and vital software written for the Mac, that could attract new users and there is hope."

Don, you probably haven't yet frequented the Apple Store, or if you have, you didn't spend much time clicking around with casual looking. Try it! Here's the URL: apple.com

Notice the little CD images in the corner of product display windows? Those are links to featured software. Amazing and expensive featured software! Try apple.com It is the featured software for the PRO systems.

Anything one can do with a Pentium based system, can be done faster and with less stress with a G3 based system. Some individual software packages are available here, but not there (true for either camp). But there is a wealth of software available, regardless of which system one uses. Software is mostly a non-issue!

If there was a software availability issue, don't you think that the millions of Mac Fanatics would be pretty stressed about it by now? Most of us have been at this game since 1984. Here it is 1998. 14 years is a long time to wait on software without complaining.

The point is that complaints about software availability on the Mac platform generally come from non-Mac users. Windows users mostly. Though I have listened to it out of the mouths of Unix users on occasion.

I think that's fairly objective!
