randall, i learned about investing the hard way too. after a few years you will learn to invest and to not invest because you are the one who makes the decision. not because someone tells you what to do.

you will learn to take responsibility for your own investing and not blame it on others. it will make you a better investor.

i hope this helps. i learned by doing also.
