DCF, I could easily do a search and find plenty of quotes from the Bible that are very harshly dominating towards women. You can quote the Bible to prove almost anything, and so I think the actual history of women under Christianity, all the deaths in the Inquisition for example, and the extent of domestic violence in America, make strong statements.

Did you know that early Celtic women in Ireland owned property on their own, and could leave their marriages every year simply by walking out on February first? That freedom changed dramatically when the Christians overtook Ireland. Why is it that women cannot be Catholic priests, and are just now being accepted as ministers in some of the more liberal Protestant churches?

Of course, these are historical facts that scholars and seekers of the truth know. Whatever you want to believe as your religion is just fine with me, but I think it is a mistake to assume that religious belief systems have been benign or positive on the general history of man.

Incidentally, I have no desire to confuse anyone. Why would I want to do that?
