Gottfried,>If someone has 29 years, he'll do very well in an index
fund also. Many do not have that much time. If they did, they certainly wouldn't need to post here.< Paul, you said >> I purchased additional shares of amat for my three children at $33-$36 in their IRA'S. Twenty nine years from now I am sure they will be greatly rewarded!<<

I had my kids give me official approval to trade their IRA's for them.
Therefore, I am hopeful that I can educate them regarding the stock market while assisting them to make money so they will be able to beat the index funds after I have kicked the bucket.<g> IMO, so many individuals do not realize the impact of "compound interest over time" and the "rule of 72" plus how to perform fundamental and technical analysis.

One concern that I have is that many of our kids may not have the financial resources to carry them over when they reach our age and older.

With the network we have developed on this site, good research and the desire and implementation of good decision-making we should be able to assist them in their future.

Just my $2.00.
