Your post is refreshing.
It does not help the trading, however.

Among the various things that could cause the shock to Americans and our economy would be a simple agreement among the oil exporting countries to cut production by five percent. They would immediately realize a 25% or more gain in income. I never saw such an example of greed extending charity to the wealthy as their willingness to keep pumping and selling their irreplaceable natural resources. And so we consume it for them, in these four-wheel-drive heavy-duty vehicles, most of which never leave paved roads.

Actually I guess it's not as insane as the "fall-out shelter" construction craze in the early 1960s. Not that it's insane to protect oneself, but those shelters stored with inedible protein-enriched crackers and jugs of water would have been inhabitable. At least the folks tooling around in their Cherokees, etc., really would survive a crash that would leave me squashed in my Tercel. Till that happens, though, I am getting 42mpg.

Oh Paul--you would also be proud of me if you could see my collection of used rubber bands.

I can't understand why Globex is up, with most markets elsewhere down.
