Great point Turboe.

Please don't misunderstand what I'm going to say next. It address's a "word" that for some reason or another has always bothered me. I have done my best to inculcate my children with my "feelings," (don't like that one too much either,) and always try to use the "word" sparingly.

The word is "make." Only the US Mint "makes" money.

When you or I, or anyone for that matter, puts our hard "earned" dollars to work, be it an investment or otherwise, and produce a positive result, we have "earned" a return. If the return came quicker on one investment than it did on another, it was "earned" more quickly. I'll admit that sometimes it may appear to all of us that money is "made" quickly in the market or by certain people doing certain things. No matter, they also can lose money quickly and when the ebb and flow of these machinations is balanced out, money has been "earned."

Geeez, sounds pretty deep. But really though, think about it. You broke your ass to get the dough to start investing. Saying that you "made" money sure as hell trivializes all your effort and risk taking and DD and.... and etc.

Hope I didn't bore everyone to death,

Rich
