No Upgrades???

I was surprised, not to see any upgrades or start ups of coverage on Apple. This is a real negative IMHO. I know from personal experience that when a brokerage house is ready to support a stock it doesn't take long to generate a report. After annual meetings and earnings reports analyst spend many long nights to ensure those reports are out the next morning??? I can only assume many have decide that yesterday's news wasn't enough and will wait to see what is presented at WWDC.

<<2 years from now, people will be trying to scrap this crap to upgrade. Don't be fooled by a used car sales
person on this future lemon.>>

Actually, knowing Macs, this machine will be in use in some homes for the next ten years. It will be able to run the basics for a long, long time.

<<He is assuming everyone does not need a floppy in the future! I wonder if it will be a listed option for $299. This machine is priced
attractively but I think it's achilles heels are its integrated monitor (15" I think), lack of
3.5 floppy, and most important, processor is not upgradeable.>>

He is making a correct assumption that the extra cost of the floppy is not beneficial when a disprotionately small portion of the target market will need this. I believe it will be a BTO option, so those who really want it can get it. Also, the 15" monitor is the most popular monitor for the consumer market by far. Maybe that will change, but it's also the correct decision for now. As far as an upgradeable processor, that is something for an entirely different market again. That will drive production costs way up to benefit a small portion of that market. Industry statistics show that even with upgradeable processors, a huge majority of the people who actually upgrade their processors are the power users.

This product is right on target, and will be BTO will all the options that people need. The abililty to hit a button on the machine itself (and not on the screen) and be connected to the net is a huge marketing boon.
