Bob,

Perhaps your best bet is to sell your calls for whatever you can get,
and then buy 100 shares of Informix for every call. This will help you participate in the rise of the price which may not start occuring until June or July.

Realize that although Informix will start to rebound, it is unlikely that it will go up faster than the time depreciation factor of May 10 calls. Also if we get a significant market correction (3% or greater), which could happen at any time, Informix could go down with the rest of the market.

I would not suggest selling May calls and buying calls at a later time, because you are paying a large time premium. This is why people like Bob Graham, Melissa and myself sell calls against held stock. I don't like doing it with Informix, since it could rise anytime, but I nonetheless do this (although very cautiously) not only with Informix, but Oracle, CUBE, ATML, CY, TLK and others. The commission eats into some of the profit, but it is a good way to make income with beaten down stocks (I love to buy CUBE when it goes below 20 and then sell 20 calls sometimes for as much as $1.75 a share).

In repsonse to your concern about the "lackluster news", within the last 5 business days, IFMX announced:

- A profit, when the industry was expecting a loss

- Revenue growth

- A reasonable looking balance sheet

- Dozens of wins, new accounts, new deals, expanded sales, etc. around the world.

- Some new alliances/partnerships

- A revived product strategy around 4GL

- A revitalized sales organization

- Analyst upgrades

- Some interesting product applications

Bob - sorry about your May calls, I have some too, but I also have a lot of the stock. I think they announced a helluva lot for a week.
