It has yet to be proven that they have violated any law. Success and size are not violations. This is purely a vendetta type of politics. They are being threatened at a crucial time in the product cycle. It will mess a lot of people up if the thing doesn't come on time. Think of all the 3rd party vendors whose life blood will be turned off by any hiatus. Selfishly does Gates care whether he is worth 45 or 60 billion? No. What is being done is tantamount to extortion. At the end of the day and after the damage is done DOJ will settle for some inconsequential genuflection on the part of Gates et al and in the mean time the little guys get pounded. DOJ thankfully is not above the law but in the meantime damage is being done. This thing is like a frivolous nuisance suit.

Also ask your self if MSFT is forced to put a price on the browser will NSCP be forced to do the same? Who benefits by that?
