When a stock goes down 12 points in a day, it is bound to come back a little in abscence of any Major bad news!!!! Shorts will lock in their profits and stock will Bounce. One interesting consideration is that if too many shorts start covering(Considering that there is a lot of short positions on the stock ), they might create a short squeeze and then it feeds on it self.
