Cosmo, I know all about it. Now there getting nothing and passing nothing because Clinton got to greedy and there is no consensus in Congress. Once it becomes clear that nothing will pass, watch out above ( in regard to MO's share price ). MO feeds the frenzy with a tremendous share buy back and a dividend increase. Analysts raise estimates because they now need to adjust upward for last June's presumed deal or farce, which is now DEAD!
In retrospect, it's easy to say now that the tobacco companies made a big mistake in agreeing to last June's settlement. I won't harp on this disastrous business decision, as others have. But I will say this: I think the tobacco companies have learnt a good hard lesson here and now realize you can't compromise with Big Brother. Big MO will come out a big winner here when all the BS clears. It is a compelling fundamental value. Be patient and load up at these prices.
