No. Puts and calls do not cancel each other if a high volatile hits. Quite the contrary you make so much on one that the loss on the other don't mattur. Actually if you play it right it could be a 3 way win. The bounce on Dome would not be so severe that you have to worry. BUT the puts should be exercised with caution and speed.

Play the options as insurance and also on their own in their own time. Don't hold waiting too long for perfection in resolution of the conflict. You will do ok.
