Dominican Cigar Corp. Enters Agreement With Integrated Merchants Services
Acquires Tio Mariano
WEST PALM BEACH, FL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 1998--Dominican Cigar Corporation (OTC BB: DCGR - news), a manufacturer of premium hand rolled cigars in the Dominican Republic, today announced that it has entered a major agreement with Integrated Merchants Services (IMS) of Coral Springs, FL to commence a 40,000+ member humidor consignment revenue program on February 6 through the bank via its current and future retail merchants. ''This is our entree into the retail business without incurring the overhead costs of a national sales force,'' said Don Platten, president and chief executive officer of Dominican Cigar Corporation.

DCGR also announced the acquisition of Tio Mariano, a wholly owned subsidiary of Colmena Corp. (OTCBB: CLME - news). As a result of the transaction, DCGR will take control of Tio Mariano's 10,000-square-foot cigar manufacturing facility in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The facility has the capability of producing two million cigars per month. The acquisition is an asset purchase and includes an inventory of 120,000 cigars plus Tio Mariano's existing client base. ''Tio Mariano is the head of the farmer's union in the Dominican Republic. His company is established and his product has been featured in a recent issue of Smoke magazine,'' said Platten. ''This acquisition will strengthen our position in the market place.''

Dominican's superior quality product is marketed worldwide under the SIR DON and ADOLFO labels. DCGR is constructed as a vertical company controlling its premium cigar from the tobacco seed to the rolling process to distribution through a national network of distributors and retailers. Dominican Cigar Reaches Pilot Agreement with Walgreen Drug Stores
Khaliah S. Ali Joins Dominican as Consultant
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1998--Dominican Cigar Corporation (OTC BB: DCGR - news), a manufacturer of premium hand rolled cigars in the Dominican Republic, has reached a pilot agreement with Walgreen Drug Stores, Inc. to place cigar displays and humidors in three Walgreen locations in Las Vegas.

''This is a colossal opportunity for us,'' said Dominican President and CEO Don Platten. ''There are over 5,000 Walgreen Drug Stores in the country, so, naturally, once the pilot program is successful we will target the remaining locations across the United States.''

Platten said the three pilot locations in Las Vegas are operational and he expects 40 more stores within the next 30 to 45 days.

Khaliah S. Ali Joins Dominican As Consultant

Khaliah S. Ali, daughter of heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, has joined Dominican Cigar Corporation as a consultant.

''She will utilize her marketing expertise to assist us in our promotional work within the casino and boxing industries and the World Wrestling Federation, as well as in our development of The Legend of Champions cigar and with our various charitable endeavors in the Dominican Republic.''

A former talk show host, Ali has worked with numerous charity organizations, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, American Sportscasters, and the American Heart Association and managed a celebrity basketball tour.
