re: a free upgrade to Windows98 when it comes out. I'd wait up on any Win98 at least until the first SP for it comes out. SP = service pack. Better yet, unless you are planning to use any of those obscure devices that NT does not support, like MIDI, just go to NT v4. It's lots more stable than Win95 AND is the technical direction for Microsoft.
