Pepsi files antitrust suit against Coke May 7, 1998 03:19 PM NEW YORK, May 7 (Reuters) - Pepsico Inc. PEP on Thursday filed an antitrust lawsuit against Coca-Cola Co. KO . alleging that the company supplies Coke to food service distributors on the condition they do not distribute Pepsi. The suit filed in Manhattan federal court alleges that Coca-Cola has the "specific intent to monopolize the market for fountain-dispensed soft drinks distributed through independent foodserve distributors throughout the United States." REUTERS sure leaves a bad taste in one's mouth... the antitrust thing going around, like it is. so now, mergers give way to lawsuits ? but i think you're right. sounds like sour grapes.
