Thanks for your list. I'm always interested in what everyone is reading. You can find some gems that way.

Re: contemporary American writers...John Irving is probably my favorite fiction writer. I can't wait to sit down with his new one, "A Widow For One Year". Umberto Eco is another favorite. His novels are translated from the original Italian but are so delicious nevertheless.

I usually end up reading non-fiction most of the time and try to save fiction for long trips and vacations.

My wife is a big Anne Tyler fan. She says that nothing much happens in her books, but the whole world changes.

Anyone else with their current choices?
