Bob, It looked like a real stampede toward the exits at the close! I'm sure if the jobs and payroll report in the am is bullish we will be back over 9000 at the open, if not - look out below. Since I'm in all cash as of noon I'm sure the report will be good and all stocks will gap up at the open!
Steve

[Market Index Update - NAZ]

As a continuation of Bob Graham's mkt profile series, im going to start posting thoughts on the mkt daily under the current heading (ie: like donald sew's great index update concept).. hopefully, it will be helpful.. let's get started.

note: the candlestick analysis is done automatically by metastock. i am not good enough in candlesticks to verify its accuracy.

note: i do not have volume data on the mkt indexes.

====================
My thoughts:

Naz is the weakest index at the current moment. if you look at the below data, it shows it closing below the 5,9,21 day emas. the other indexes did not close below the 21 day ema.

thus my conclusion that either we will go down to test the 50 day ema. we are defintely in consolidating mode.

Candlesticks

A black body occurred (because prices closed lower than they opened).
During the past 10 bars, there have been 4 white candles and 6 black candles for a net of 2 black candles. During the past 50 bars, there have been 29 white candles and 21 black candles for a net of 8 white candles.

A dark cloud occurred (which indicates that prices moved up strongly on the previous bar, opened higher, but then closed significantly lower). This implies weakness as the momentum appears to be shifting from the bulls to the bears. Note that the lower the close of the black candle (relative to the white candle), the more bearish the dark cloud pattern.
