Alien, I called one of my brokers today. They could not tell me if Vivus was available for shorting since it was after trading hours. This brokerage house uses Pershing which is one of the largest clearing houses out there. The trading desk rep told me that if Pershing can't get the shares nobody can. I think the long waited short squeeze may be around the corner. The stock has been under heavy acummulation between 10 and 12. If a few institutions decide to start heavy buying from 10 to 12 it can spark the start of a true squeeze that can pop Vivus over 15 in a day or two. If Vivus closes above 15 1/2 look out because it will be the start of a real bloodbath for the shorts. As I see it script data should start going up soon and FDA plant approval is around the corner--these will be then catalyst to get our Vivus dog back into flight. Today, Vivus fell on a fraction of the volume it traded all day today at 10 11/16 ish. If the employment numbers look good I expect a gap up with a close at above 11. Even if the numbers are bad I don't think we will see single digits with no shares available for shorting. VLAD PS Vivus has been easy money for the shorts ie always short on strength. Well if they can't short anymore on strength then they can watch their money disappear or cover and freak out their fellow shorts.
