Bill
This is from Briefing.com :

<<Sports Authority (TSA) 17 3/4 +3/4: operator of sporting goods stores is warning that it
expects to record a loss of $0.12 a share in Q1, reversing year-ago profit of $0.08 a share;
expects sales to come in around $346 mln, ahead of year-ago level of $320.47 mln, but below
Q4 level of $422.97 mln; according to First Call, company was expected to earn $0.04 a share;
on the bright side, Woolworth (Z 22 3/8 +1/2) to buy TSA for $570 mln, plus the assumption of
$179 mln in debt.....>>

What are the chance of take-over with SPLN?
TIA

Bill: Interesting analysis on SPLN. I have been considering selling my shares as the stock has hit a peak. Additional interesting fact is that on April 17th the new offering was put out and marketed by brokers Solomon Smith Barney and Paine Webber. On the 20th Solomon Smith Barney come out with a BUY rec. on the stock. On the 21st Paine Webber issue a BUY rec. on the stock. How many investors bought the stock after seeing it listed as a buy by two top brokers not knowing they were involved in the additional offering. What price do you advice selling at. It hit 36 1/2 today and I am looking to move my shares on Friday or should I wait for next week. Any thoughts and thank you for opening my eyes.
