"Reporters" get bought & sold every day. Some very big industrial interests don't won't the public getting hot on silver so they get a "reporter" to slant stories in their favour. Often the reporters really haven't a clue about the fundamentals about which they write nor do their editors so, sometimes, the magazine/newspaper is quite innocently getting bagged by the very essence of the media - cover everything regardless of whether you know anything.
