3Com's problems are still there! I lost my trust to the management team of 3Com since they made the decision to acquire USRX. They were trying to save the company with selling USRX's products but it was clearly wrong. They did not know where were the markets and what were going to turn hot and what's cooling down. That's a bad deal the Street disliked. To me, I think Mr. Benhamou should resign. The Street will welcome a new CEO to bring something new to 3Com. Until now 3Com is still lack a flagship product that make the Street eyes on. 3Com may be forced to make another merger with a networking company that may bring them some products to sell in next two years. Spending cut may also be necessary so as to improve next earnings. But how? Cut R&D and layoff? No good, it only benefits short term but not long term. Will 3Com be bought by some giants? No, 3Com is tasteless to someone like Lucent who is keen on acquiring either BAY or NN. 3Com is a company who has to stand by itself. Nobody would like to lend it a hand during this round networking competition war.
