Only Because it's Mouse Day

I am guessing that I have the thread record for mouse clicks today. I did a lot of clicking today. At the end of an eight hour day I listed the points that I had digitized one by one.. 28862! If I add in 1000+/- clicks for software operations it brings me close to 30,000. I do not want to try that again:(

My office computer station is designed by an ergonomist. There is a world of difference between the designed computer station and one that just happens.

The chair...How does one describe a chair? It bounces when I sit down. (hydraulic, the piston had to be replaced after 6 months as it developed a downward creep) Arm rests adjust up and down and in and out. The seat tilts fore and aft as well as the back. It is a great chair for slouching!

The office chair is nice but there is no way I would trade it for my home chair. It is an armed leather rocking chair. High back, sufficient for full head support.

The keyboard A regular (not bent) keyboard. (I think it is better for four finger typists). It sure makes a difference when it is mounted and adjustable.

Speach recognition sounds interesting. Does one whisper? What does an office sound like when everyone starts talking to their computer? My family already thinks I am a bit weird sitting by this computer as much as I do. They will really think I am nuts when I start talking!

The Mouse Table Right where I need it. Not like the one on my home desk.

The Foot Stool I do not have one of these but my wife swears by them. After she started using one she claims her back feels better. The key here is to not let the legs hang.

ps
After all that clicking my hand was stiff for about an hour. The only lasting sensation is a burning feeling in the palm where the hand rested on the high part of the mouse.

?? Dump it. You know that'll make spots.

BTW, do pay attention to the PREVENTATIVE side of CTS. Years ago when I was young and full of myself, got it from a home construction (demolition part) project.

Both wrists, they wanted to cut the tendons, I checked around and wasn't happy with probable success so went without. But problem is sort of degenerative. Used to be pretty strong, now can only take a few turns of a screwdriver or wacks of a hammer before I have to rest.

And although maybe it isn't on point for a dream machine, I do believe this is as good a place as any to educate everyone on this problem.

PS
Ran across some of your posts in the APM thread. Pretty risky IMHO from a HW technical standpoint and looks like from a market view also.
