BT Cable Television Launches SeaChange Digital Advertising Insertion
System

U.K. Cable Operator Uses SPOT System to Attract More Local Advertisers and National Brands

MAYNARD, Mass., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Advertisers on BT Cable are getting highly targeted exposure to 64,000
subscribers spread over the city of Westminster in London and the new city of Milton Keynes since the cable television
operator completed installation of the SeaChange SPOT digital ad insertion system last month. This is SeaChange
International, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: SEAC - news) first installation for BT Cable, a wholly-owned subsidiary of British
Telecommunications plc., the United Kingdom's largest telecommunications company.

The SPOT System is located in one 'split' cable headend in Westminster, from which BT Cable schedules and delivers ads
on 12 channels in Westminster and eight channels in Milton Keynes. Digital insertion enables BT Cable advertisers to
make ad placements with distinct audiences tuned-in to channels such as Bravo, CNN, UK Gold, Living and the
Paramount Comedy Channel.

The SPOT System introduces placement accuracy that makes the regional cable medium more attractive to national
brands. Additionally, such accuracy paired with BT Cable's ability to price commercial avails at less than the cost of
some newspaper or magazine print advertising is creating demand among less traditional cable television advertisers, such
as local retailers that benefit from geographic targeting and fast ''on-air'' placement.

''We think that there is a huge potential in targeted advertising, particularly in our two main franchises. We are very
pleased with the professionalism and support which SeaChange has provided and look forward to exercising the potential
which ad insertion promises,'' said Pat Boner, general manager, BT Cable Television Services.

To keep pace with increasing demand for commercial avails, BT Cable employs City Television Network's cable
advertising sales force to reach national advertisers. At the local level, independent sales forces in Westminster and
Milton Keynes work with local advertisers.

Founded in 1993, SeaChange International, Inc., of Maynard, Mass. (www.schange.com), develops video server systems
and software to manage, store and distribute digital video for television operators and telecommunications companies. The
Company's turnkey systems automate the distribution of short- and long-form MPEG video streams including
advertisements, movies, news updates and other video programming requiring precise, accurate and continuous execution.
SeaChange's products are installed in hundreds of geographic markets and serve approximately 14,000 television channels
worldwide.
