the stock sold off when fido decided to sell their block which cleared at 10 cents. this is symtomatic of the canadian equity market-no real liquidity at the market price. TD and CIBC both bought a ton-people in the know knew it was a good trade-groundwood prices were firming up and repap was the most leveraged - plus the takeover potential. it was just a trade. however, at current market prices all the good news is priced in-that doesnt mean it is a short but rather the asset is fairly priced (touch too high in my valuation). tdam buys stocks all day long-dont get too rapped up in the name-they r not married to the position just simply a valuation play that now is fully valued. i would guess if someone bid them 35 cents for their block, the trade would be done like dinner. imho.
