Charles, You and your broker are right in my opinion. I did not mean to say that this process is going to happen next week. What I did mean is that perhaps it is time to turn the stock screens in a new direction and find the "jewels of the oil and mining industry"! Make your picks carefully, because there is time. Wait for the lows that you seek because they have time to form. This stock market is like the Titanic. Its proponents will soon say that even Alan Greenspan cannot sink this ship, and then it will soon hit an iceburg!! It is in a trading range now and will move within that range until something moves it up or down. We have no inflation, low unemployment, etc, etc,--What happens next? I have no answer. I will only say that we have become so "global" that we all ride in the same ship. There is no longer the "US ship" and the "British ship" and the "Indonesian ship"! All ships are upon the same sea and seemingly connected by cable. One sinks and it pulls on the others, so to speak. Technology marches forward! I no longer need my local broker to tell me the bid and ask on that which I wish to purchase. I have almost the same access that he has. I placed an order for a put option on Tuesday and ( he did pretty good on the execution) watched my bid hit the screen. I am sure that I got a fill, but he has not called me as he is more interested in other customers with bigger pockets who are not as much trouble as I am. I will get the notice in the mail and he is soon to be replaced. Back to the subject. The key is when the markets change and that is certainly a problem for most of us. By the same token, we are not stupid, and we can anticipate and prepare pretty well. By most estimations, this market is pretty frothy. We have lots of investors chasing butterflies and truly the "butterflies" fly because of the chase. The problem is that few of the "Butterflies have any real income" That is a problem with mining issues also! I heard Stanley New scream in horror that GPGI has no money! Well, they have had none for the last 15 years, and I will leave that at that~! You can trust me when I say that the Major Oils and the Major Miners have income, they have just fallen from favor recently. That is why I like them now!! Oilygold, Jack
