Kurt, The Polaris Victory was supposed to be on the market by May, but the intro date has been shifted back to July. I have yet to see any test reports, so it's hard to comment on the product. I've heard that it will retail for $13-14k, which puts it up against the lower-range Harleys. Polaris is a snowmobile/ATV/jetski manufacturer making its first step into motorcycles, so some difficulties are to be expected. Check out the PII board on Yahoo Finance for some interesting chatter on the company and the product. The competition for Titan? Titan sees Harley-Davidson not as a competitor, but as a provider of customers. Comparing a Harley to a Titan is like comparing a Camaro to a Corvette. It's a completely different product. A Titan is what you turn to if you ride a Harley and want more: up to 70% of Titan sales are to former Harley owners, and Titan sees every Harley rider as a potential customer. The Japanese entries in this category have seen limited success - American big bike riders can be pretty fanatical about buying American-made products - and are simply not in the same category as Titan with respect to quality and performance. The new entries, like Polaris and Excelsior-Henderson, are aimed to compete primarily with Harley, not Titan. The only real competition Titan faces is from small custom shops with extremely limited volume. It should also be recalled that the US V-twin market has nearly doubled in the last 5 years, and that Harley still can't meet demand. There's room for plenty of competition. Hope this answers the question... please ask if there's anything else. Steve
