Not necessarily within a year. The proposed rule is not yet effective, and won't be until the SEC approves it. In this case, that will not take too long because the SEC generally approves rule changes proposed by the exchanges and the NASD.

I think this is a very good rule.

CatLady, you may also note that there is no regulation against BB companies reporting audited financial statements, and in fact many already do! I guess we can assume that any prudent investor will take these proposed regulations into account when considering an investment in any OTCBB issue. Those who study these things may have been aware of the impending rule change for some time, and IMHO, BB traded companies should take this opportunity to contact their shareholders with a press release stating their future intentions on the matter, as dragging ones feet might imply to some shareholders that the company might not intend to comply for whatever reason. Just IMHO, BAWK! :>
