Tom, Moslems believe in the same God that Christians and Jews do. Saying that the Jihad which is using terrorism in the Middle East to fight the state of Israel is really a religious group is comparable to saying that the entire white supremacist/militia movement is typical of Christians. After all, everyone in these movements is a Christian. In reality, though, mainstream Moslems have rejected them.

I don't really think it is a very fair analogy. The original beliefs of Islam seem to have been terribly perverted to dominate and control women, for example. Women were originally to be treated respectfully, as equals, and to have the opportunity for education. Religious freedom was also very important to the early Moslems. We know that this is not the way things are now. I personally think the radical conservative Moslem sects in the Middle East reflect almost nothing of the original Islamic belief system, just as the radical conservative Christians refelct almost nothing of real Christian values.

Here is something on the original Islamic teachings, if you are interested. You will see that they are as far away as can be from suicidal terrorists.
