Interesting. A large German company bought my company last year. Wonder what is driving this trend. I hear German taxes are so high that it makes more economic sense for German companies to invest out side of Germany. It also makes sense for the companies to leave any profits outside of Germany to avoid the tax. IMHO the drive for globalization is the major reason for these moves. The tax situation may be accelerating German globalization.

Perhaps Compaq's next acquisition should have some geographic considerations attached to it. A true multinational company enjoys many benefits.
