Jim, one other pet theory, Larry Ellison is going to lose his company over this NC thing. His stock is languishing, his NC product doesn't exist. The concept has been overtaken by events and will be at best a very small nitch with no margins attacked by Windows terminals and low-cost PCs administered with new tools to lower TCO. While Larry is playing with the NC concept he's setting himself up to lose his core database market. I think Apple will come out with a nice palm PC, possibly education oriented but Larry has his own agenda and I don't think it will be successful.

J.R., Thanks for the Ellison connection! Wonder what Steve's products will be like?

I think the disk makers will provide inexpensive USB disks for those who want them. I'm a little more concerned that iMac and the PowerBooks, for that matter, don't also have firewire.
