Dan,

I know this money thing doesn't motivate you so let me help you out:

"Last quarter, they reported no purchases I read, despite that brief dip down to 110?"

MSFT was on a buying spree in the last q of 1997, which was when that drop occurred, not q1 of calender 1998.

Last q, the one you refer to, saw appreciation from 120 to about 180, ignoring splits. That is why no stock was bought.

So 6 months ago they where buying at between 116-145, and we are approaching 160 now. In the meanwhile the business is 15% bigger.

Conclusion: of course they are buying, and will do so all summer.
