Thanks for your response. In the Times article, I don't think the need for a new tri-mode phone was mentioned. However, other news releases (especially a reactionary one from Sprint) mention the need for the new phone.

Also, you can go to inforseek.com , type in "Sprint", "Nextel", etc. and bullet "news" to get a lot of this information.

AT&T says it will begin a new ad campaign next week (the week of the Nextel meeting), so it will be interesting to see how they play off against each other.
