The new Borders.com site is open:

borders.com

Some ISP's haven't updated the address yet, so if the above address doesn't work, try:

32.97.253.81

Note that you may have some problems linking to certain pages within the site if you use the second
address.

It's a very nice site. Over 10 million titles in stock and ready to ship. I couldn't figure out if that
meant 10 million *unique* titles (surely not?), or if it meant 10 million copies. Almost every book I
checked on was labeled as "ships immediately." It appears that keeping enough inventory to
support a thousand stores is definitely an advantage for online sales too.

They have a much better selection of music (including audio clips, unlike AMZN) and videos than
AMZN. Like AMZN, they will search for out of print books. Also like AMZN, they don't tell you
price or availability up front. IMHO, interloc.com is still the leader in this high-margin
niche.

The site is already loaded with content and I'm sure it will only get better. Pricing system looks the
same as AMZN -- 20% off softcovers, 30% off hardcovers, selected bestsellers for 40% off. Like
BKS, they have a small number of titles for up to 80% off.

Like Aol, it appears that Amzn's Aposoporos, has a Phd in public relations. Have you
noticed that , nobody can ask Amzn, how they plan on making enough money to justify
their stock price?

I have been noticing this for a while. I cannot understand the buying of this stock nor is there a business model explained by management. In addition, IR is releasing the very minimal amount of information possible. The investors are not to know the face value of the loan. The investors are not to know the revenues of each of the three acquired companies. The investors are not to know how much was paid for each acquired company. There is no prediction of when AMZN will be profitable. No plan on how to become profitable. Shall I go on?

Glenn

The above is my observation and opinion, of course.
