*OT* That sounds like cable modems, I forgot the actual single user rate but on download only it was faster than T-1. However if in your community everyone had it, the aggregate bit rate would be fixed and everyone would multiplex off of it. I, personally, am waiting for ASDL. Faster than cable and doesnt degrade with multiple users on it.

Have you checked out cable service. I have @Home and it cost me $39.95/mo for unlimited usage. Browsing speeds around 200K with downloads hitting a peak of 600K. They also support NT and the latest browser versions.
