Clark, you are an unusual person.

I am enjoying your books, "Princely India" in particular.

My interests in India lay mainly with the day to day life of the common man, but the historical thread in "Princely India" with the Persian, Arab and Moghul connections, is fascinating - and bringing fresh light to my original interests.

Thank you

P.S. I recommend to all to subscribe to the email India Railway club mentioned in yesterday's post (thanks to Mohan Marette). Appearing in my inbox hourly are incredible arcanities regarding the number of crew on particular trains, the quality of their accommodations and suchlike. The rhythm of the discourse is highly reminiscent of conversations on Indian trains. Bringin' it all back home.
