Toy: Appreciate your posts.....

>>In NetWare 5, this will be fixed. Novell will be leaving MSFT way behind on this one since I dont think
MSFT will play catchup on this issue for a long time!>>

I commented this morning on the MF board.....(see below)

Well in addition to negative comments from two respected NT developers about the severe shortcomings of
NTas an enterprise server....I had another long talk with a pro-NT developer who finally - without any
prompting on my part - admitted he was indeed becoming more and more impressed with Novell, its
technology, new products and future. 6-10 months ago this guy thought Novell was close to being history.
Now Novell has won his healthy respect. I regard this individual as one of the very best trading technology
developers on Wall Street. His word speaks volumes. He has spoken.

Go Novell!

Here is my MF post:

==================================================

Are we all in agreement that Novell's momemtum is building - daily, weekly, monthly there is a continued track
record of upward progress as they define new areas of opportunity while exerting industry leadership, winning
awards, getting good press, etc.

We also have a major firm in the computer services market buying major quantities of Novell - Computer
Sciences Corp. From the way the stock trades its very apparent we have some big dogs buying the stock along
with CSC or whomever may be joining the party along with CSC.

Why hasn't the stock spiked? Because all those hyped, spiked buyers of yore have already left the train weeks if
not months ago. This is a very positive sign. It means Novell is firmly in the grip of powerful interests on the
street who want all they can buy at these prices BEFORE average Joe gets and believes the real story.
Remember over the past 1-2 years the "average Joes" long Novell were dying with every fading tick lower -
hoping and
hyping the stock whenever the opportunity presented itself. Now we have a very credible buyer of big
quantities of stock and Novell does not spike. This is how it should be. We are heading higher because there are
more and more fundamental reasons why Novell is turning the corner.

Last night I was in a product strategy meeting with two very accomplished developers - both who work in
UNIX and NT environments. One guy is a web developer who's company runs an ISP hosting 14 major cos
web pages. Extremely sharp and young. The other guy has 18 years of experience in computer networking.
Both shook their heads at their disatisfaction with NT. For the web guy NT crashes at least once a week - taking
the entire system down and
causing him to reboot, etc. Some data gets lost. "Its getting to be a real pain in the ..." The game now is who
will call him first - his beeper that's tied to his other UNIX server which is at least reliable enough to note the
NT server is down and pages him. Or his clients. So far his clients are winning. His UNIX box is set to check
at 5 min intervals. I suggested he lower the interval to 2-3 minutes. He looked at me with this "why....."
expression and said "the damn box should not be going down so much....!"

Solution. Have you heard of Novell? A confused look came over his face as if I was talking about VMS or
something. I asked is he was aware of BorderManager, NDS, ZEN, Managewise and a host of other recently
award winning network service products. This guy will be checking and getting back to me. We are on a project
together so I will make sure he "gets it".

Novell does need to get out there with some very innovative national TV ads. Something akin to the 1984 Mac.
Not anti MS. Just telling the world there is momentum, progress, etc. I liked the ad suggestion I submitted 1-2
weeks ago. Eric, are you reading this board. Is anyone at Novell passing any of what is written along to Eric.

To close, all I can recommend is "buy more" now. Novell will soon push into the teens and it will be off to the
races.

Good Luck!
