It would be nice to see someone produce a group of, say, 20 year projections for Go2Net, based upon whatever scenarios they choose.

One can use a discounted present value on those projections to determine a value. Then one can apply their judgment as to % likelihood that the projections would be realized.

This is a way to put at least some sort of bounds on the appropriate value for internet stocks.

To my mind, that would be a more useful discussion than - it's properly valued compared to other internet stocks - which is simply circular logic as all those stocks are being compared to all the other stocks like themselves.

Just a thought - I would try to speculate myself on 20 year projections, but I know very little about the industry, its revenue sources, projections for usage et cetera.

If you tell me that it's impossible to put together any projections at all, I would tell you that you should not invest in the stock as you have no idea of its underlying value unless its purely momentum daytrading.

Just my 2 cents - Peter Michaelson (who sold on Wednesday just before the g__d__mned run-up)
