>>Ingram is still moving the product in large qts. hundreds of drives and 1000's of disks. All looks good...<<

Yeah, but is Iomega making any profit in this? My guess is no.

They are in desperation mode now with the imminent release of HiFi and Orb. And, with a possibility of more computer manufacturers following Apple's lead, more companies could start dropping any kind of storage options from their boxes. This would only increase the appeal of an external flexible design, like the LS-120 Stupordisc, or the upcoming HiFi. Both of these can handle standard floppies, and their own proprietary superfloppy media. Zip CANNOT handle floppies, and this is a killer for machines that have no kind of external storage.

Mr. Bateh: Without the prices of the products, your updates are meaningless. Consider this very chilly scenario: If IOM is losing money on every discounted Zip, than it could very well mean that your rosy scenario of heavy shipments means increased losses at the margin. Kind of like a going out a business sale. Of course your inability to provide revenue figures is not limited to you. I mean the "new" management could not even provide any kind of revenue projection for this quarter. Hardly the kind of earth shaking confidence one would want to have in any new investment is it? Maybe there are rays of hope out there, but new money going into a stock where management can't even remotely predict its margins or revenue. You must be kidding. To repeat, NO BULL ON THIS BOARD CAN GIVE ANY ACCURATE ESTIMATE OF THE GM FOR IOM, BECAUSE MANAGEMENT CAN NOT DO SO. AND FOLKS, IF MANAGEMENT CANNOT PROVIDE ANY CREDIBLE GM OR REVENUE PROJECTION THAN THERE IS NO WAY THAT MANAGEMENT CAN PROVIDE ANY HONEST PROJECTION ABOUT 4Q PROFITABILITY--REMEMBERING OF COURSE THAT THIS IS THE SAME STUPID BOARD THAT APPROVED A VERY DUMB STOCK SPLIT.
