NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--C-Cube Microsystems Inc.'s (CUBE) Divicom unit will supply headend compression and multiplexing equipment for British Digital Broadcasting's broadcast center in London.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

British Digital Broadcasting, an equal partnership between Carlton Communications PLC (CCTVY) and Granada Group PLC, is a commercial digital terrestrial television broadcaster.

In a press release Friday, Divicom said British Digital ordered its MediaView MV40 encoder, MediaNode MN20 multiplexer and MPEG Media Toolkit products.

British Digital expects to begin broadcasting from its London center in the last quarter of 1998.

C-Cube Microsystems designs, makes and markets digital video compression chips and software.
